Suncatcher Guide

🌈 Your room's layout – The perfect spot for your window stickers 🌞

Choosing the right room and window is crucial for the best rainbow effect! πŸ’‘ Contrary to popular belief that super bright rooms with lots of sunlight are best, it's actually darker rooms with direct sunlight that create the most intense rainbows.

This is because the colorful light reflections are particularly effective in dark rooms. If your room is too bright, the rainbows compete with the sunlight and become less visible. 🌀️ Here are some customer photos taken in good lighting conditions:

✨ Tips for the best rainbow effect:
βœ”οΈ Rooms with small windows but direct sunlight are ideal.
βœ”οΈ If you have curtains or pleated blinds, you can gently close them, leaving only the sticker exposed – this will create the effect of a smaller window. 🏑
βœ”οΈ If you want to apply your sticker to a large window front or floor-to-ceiling patio doors , I recommend one of the XL stickers or the XL suncatcher films for maximum rainbows. ✨ Here's the effect of one of my XL suncatcher films on a large window:

πŸ•°οΈ Conscious positioning – When are you home?

Imagine having the most beautiful rainbows – but never being there to see them? πŸ˜… So think carefully:

πŸ”† What time of day are you in which room and have direct sunlight?
Place the stickers where you can enjoy rainbows when you want to! πŸŒ… Do you get direct sunlight all day at the office? Then you might want an office sticker too – your colleagues will surely appreciate it!

πŸ’‘ Important: The sun moves throughout the day! 🌍 The effect of the stickers can change significantly depending on the sun's position. If you don't see breathtaking rainbows right away, give the stickers some time and observe them throughout the day before repositioning them.

πŸͺŸ Clean windows thoroughly

To ensure your stickers reach their full potential, the windows should be really clean !

βœ… Especially with small stickers , even the smallest imprints can affect the rainbow effect.
βœ… Before applying, thoroughly clean the window inside and out . The adhesive side of the sticker should not come into contact with window cleaner, so make sure it is completely dry.
βœ… After application, a window cleaner can be used to gently wipe over the surface to remove fingerprints.

🐾 Wash paws – Clean hands for clear rainbows

Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the sticker! πŸ–οΈ The suncatchers are very sensitive to fingerprints – on both sides! They are especially difficult to remove from the adhesive side.

However, if fingerprints do happen to get on the adhesive side, here is the solution:

🫧 Gently lather the sticker with a little dish soap on both sides until it's foamy – very gently, without applying too much pressure.
πŸ’¦ Then rinse off the foam under running water and let it drip dry.
πŸͺŸ Stick the sticker to the window while wet and carefully pat dry with a paper towel (do not wipe or rub!).
Patience is key here – the sticker shouldn't move or slip on the window to avoid damaging the adhesive. Simply wait and let the sticker air dry. This can take more or less time depending on the outside temperature, and during this time the sticker may appear slightly bluish. This is just the water that hasn't evaporated yet and will disappear as it dries.

β˜€οΈ Apply stickers in sunlight!

Beautiful rainbows are created by a natural phenomenon – and it only works in direct sunlight! 🌞

✨ Hold the sticker up to different windows and test where the most beautiful rainbows appear before you finally stick it on.
✨ Every house and apartment has different levels of sunlight – therefore it is important to test beforehand.

✨ Generally, the best results are achieved close to the window frame. I get the best rainbows when I place the stickers near the top two corners of the window. This causes the rainbows to be beautifully cast into a shaded area, making them most visible. Here's an example in my studio with afternoon sun:

Now nothing stands in the way of the magical rainbow spell! 🌈✨ Have fun with your stickers!
